In the summer the Chetco flows out of the Kalmiopsis Wilderness warm- and clear as glass.

Below you can explore a bit of the upper Chetco in Virtual Reality, using Quicktime VR.

The scene below has three nodes or places where you can stand and look around. As soon as the file starts downloading you can start moving around the first. Hold the mouse button down and drag to move around. Use your shift and control keys to zoom in and out.

Once the entire file has downloaded (at 28.8, this takes about one and a half minutes) you can leap to the other nodes. When you are over a node the pointer turns into a white arrow. Click and you'll leap. One on the opposite river bank from your starting point and one is up river, in the white rocks.
